looking for a college, sure about the career i want:?
I live in Westland, MI and I’m sort of leaning towards Ferris State because it’s the only college I’ve seen that offers a class like this:
“Screen Process Printing:
Begins with a basic screen printing course and ends with the student having advanced knowledge and abilities in screen printing. Instruction goes from fabric stretching and screen preparation to image creation. Lab projects are: hand printing, semiautomatic, and fully automatic. Substrates range from posters, textiles, pressure sensitives to glass and plastic. Emphasis is placed on screen reclaiming and safety in the lab. Technical information on inks, fabrics, frames, squeeges, and stencils.”
does anyone know about other colleges that have printing classes? and what degree should i look into if i want to make brochures/vinyl banners/customize instruments? Thanks!!
If you mean that you want to design brochures, banners, etc. you might want to look into Art Design as a major but if you really want to go into printing, the U.S. News Best Colleges lists ten that offer Printing Management Majors:

Auszug: Bjørn Wiinblad (20 September 1918 – 8 June 2006), was a Danish painter, designer and artist in ceramics, silver, bronze, textiles, and graphics. His work has been shown widely in Europe, in the United States of America first in 1954 and in Japan, Australia and Canada in 1968. He was attached to the United States Embassy in Paris in 1947 as a poster designer. Later his posters illustrated Copenhagen’s famous Tivoli Gardens and many other activities in Denmark, as well as the Olympic Games for the Handicapped at Seoul, the New World Symphony Orchestra academy in Miami, and the Royal Danish Ballet at the Metropolitan Opera House, all in 1988. His textile work was used for costumes for numerous ballets and stage presentations. Characteristics of Wiinblad’s work include whimsical round-faced people, dressed in vaguely 19th-century costume. They are often surrounded by natural elements: twining vines, floral wreaths, and fantastical trees. When Wiinblad employed color, he did so with great assurance. His colors are saturated and strong–sometimes almost psychedelic–and are often supplemented with metallic gold or silver. Wiinblad illustrated the work of his fellow Dane, Hans Christian Andersen, when he took on the task of providing the artwork for “The Swineherd,” which won an award from the American Library Association.
