When the Beatles Meets iTunes in PowerPoint Presentation

“Let It Be,” “Here Comes the Sun,” “Blackbird,” “In My Life,” “With a Little Help From My Friends,” “Come Together,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown),” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Within You Without You,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” “Helter Skelter,” “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”…

When you catch sight of those song titles, or can’t help humming spontaneously, can you remember one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music – The Beatles?

“The Beatles. Now on iTunes,” Apple.com announced on its homepage in Large Black letters beside a full screen picture of the ‘Fab Four’ – Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr – from their heyday in the 1960s.

Although half a century passed, the position of the Beatles cannot be replaced. That individual Beatles tracks began climbing the ranks of iTunes top-selling songs within hours of going on sale is the best proof.

Nowadays, to make the PowerPoint presentation much more vivid and attractive, many people would like to add background pictures or insert background music (for example, the Beatles’ music) to the slideshow. However, when you add the music (encoded in M4P) bought from iTunes to PowerPoint, there is always an error message saying the files you want to add have DRM protection, which is used to prevent users from converting iTunes music to other formats or inserting this kind of music into PowerPoint presentation directly. So, what is the next step?

1.    Remove iTunes DRM protection and convert the music to mp3

Step 1: burn the Beatles’ track bought from the iTunes store to a blank CD;

Step 2: open the burned CD in iTunes, add the media files to the library;

Step 3: right-click the media file and select “Convert Selection to MP3″ (if the “Convert Selection to MP3″ option is not enable in iTunes, you can click Advance – Importing – Import Using menu – MP3 Encoder – OK)

In addition, you can convert iTunes to MP3 with third-party Audio Converter (http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/blog/how-to-insert-itunes-music-into-powerpoint-presentation/).

2.    Insert the mp3 music to PowerPoint as background music (taking PowerPoint 2010 for example)

Step 1: navigate to the slide you want to add the music.

Step 2: click Insert – Media – Audio – Audio from File – Ok.

Very Best Of Neil Diamond

Track Notes from Neil Diamond: 1. Forever In Blue Jeans — “Forever in Blue Jeans” was inspired by guitarist Richard Bennett’s wonderful opening guitar lick which he first played for me while we were out on the road. That guitar lick was so seductive that the melody I started singing over his guitar practically wrote itself. When we returned to L.A. we were anxious to get in…

There are a couple of surprises in store for amateur historians of Beatlemania on The Unseen Beatles, particularly home-movie footage by a fan who attended the band’s famously final concert in San Francisco’s Candlestick Park, 1966. The images seen here don’t show the Beatles playing so much as they underscore how primitive the group’s concert preparations were for such a sizable performance space…

 Amoeba's Secret

Amoeba’s Secret

$8.99

As part of the heavy promotion for his 2007 album Memory Almost Full, Paul McCartney played an intimate set at Amoeba Records’ Hollywood branch — well, as intimate as a jam-packed set at a cavernous two-story store could possibly be. Ex-Beatles always tend to cause a commotion and this event was no exception, with fans waiting outside for days to get a spot for the June 27 concert — a day that just happened to coincide with Paris Hilton’s first post-jail interview with Larry King at CNN’s L.A. studios, thereby making the corner of Cahuenga and Sunset the epicenter of pop culture for a brief moment in addition to being sheer traffic hell for Los Angelenos thinking they might get a chance to rub elbows with Ringo in the audience. For those who weren’t lucky or patient enough to get inside — or happened to not live in L.A. — the show was excerpted, not released in full, as the four-song EP Amoeba’s Secret in 2009. Sadly, this is just a taste of the full 20-song set, but it’s a good one, containing two songs from Memory (the best being “That Was Me,” sounding randy and funny in a way it wasn’t on LP), a giddy run through “C Moon,” and an energetic closer of “I Saw Her Standing There.” It’s a little of everything from Sir Paul, all of it good, all enough to make you wish you were there, or at least that the whole thing came out. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi

 D? j? Vu

D? j? Vu

$36.99

One of the most hotly awaited second albums in history — right up there with those by the Beatles and the Band — D? j? Vu lived up to its expectations and rose to number one on the charts. Those achievements are all the more astonishing given the fact that the group barely held together through the estimated 800 hours it took to record D? j? Vu and scarcely functioned as a group for most of that time. D? j? Vu worked as an album, a product of four potent musical talents who were all ascending to the top of their game coupled with some very skilled production, engineering, and editing. There were also some obvious virtues in evidence — the addition of Neil Young to the Crosby, Stills & Nash lineup added to the level of virtuosity, with Young and Stephen Stills rising to new levels of complexity and volume on their guitars. Young’s presence also ratcheted up the range of available voices one notch and added a uniquely idiosyncratic songwriter to the fold, though most of Young’s contributions in this area were confined to the second side of the LP. Most of the music, apart from the quartet’s version of Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock,” was done as individual sessions by each of the members when they turned up (which was seldom together), contributing whatever was needed that could be agreed upon. “Carry On” worked as the album’s opener when Stills “sacrificed” another copyright, “Questions,” which comprised the second half of the track and made it more substantial. “Woodstock” and “Carry On” represented the group as a whole, while the rest of the record was a showcase for the individual members. David Crosby’s “Almost Cut My Hair” was a piece of high-energy hippie-era paranoia not too far removed in subject from the Byrds’ “Drug Store Truck Drivin’ Man,” only angrier in mood and texture (especially amid the pumping organ and slashing guitars); the title track, also by Crosby, took 100 hours to work out and was a better-received successor to such exp…
