Movement Candidate Mr. Mukasa Richard Elected Chairman for the Ugandan Community In South Africa

Movement Candidate
Mr. Mukasa Richard Elected
Chairman for the Ugandan Community in South Africa

Mr. Mukasa Richard
Chairman Ugandan Community in South Africa
Ugandans in South Africa converged in big numbers in Cape Town South Africa’s legislative Capital to vote their leaders in hotly contested elections ever held out side Uganda, in which Mr. Mukasa Richard won with 75 percent of the votes, winning his arch rival Cape Town’s business mogul Mr. Kamali Vincent, the Transport tycoon Mr. Bashil and Mr. Julius for Chairmanship of the Executive committee and leadership of the Ugandan community in South Africa.
Mukasa, a son of Maj. Mukasa Augustine Walungama (RIP) and Miss. Kevina Mbabazi, started his leadership career way back during his secondary school days through University to work place boardrooms up to the international platform in key global decision capitals, from Cape Town to Brussels, Cologne to Washington DC, representing people from the grassroots to multinational General Assembly High-Level Plenary Meetings at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Despite his schedule Mr. Mukasa has always had time for every occasion that patriotically unifies all Ugandans especially the youth and women. Professionally, his involvement in Education system made hundreds of Ugandans to take advantage of South African good Education as a foundation for their future personal development and financial stability.
Mukasa’s Chairmanship has completely flavored and styled up the Ugandan Community leadership in South Africa as voters besides voting for him, jumped ship from other party’s to the main-stream Movement system. The incumbent candidate, Mr. Julius despite being heavily bank-rolled, stood down after a sunami of most his supporters changed allegiances to support the Movement candidate whose campaigning message convinced most of His Own constituency strong-hold. Mukasa’s manifesto alone, answered a lot of unanswered questions from Unity, focus on youth, education, women and Gender, work, trade, investment, remittances and retirement plans.
The Chairman for Electoral Commission Mr. Baker Ssebuliba Sekamate indicated that unlike past elections, these were free and fair as candidates were given enough time to have a fully fledged campaign. Also present at the Hand over ceremony, were the Patrons and board of Governors of the Ugandan Community Mr. Batambuze Umar, Mr. Kintugulu Keith, Mr. Kajubi, Mr. Magala Charles, Miss. Shamilah Ntanzi, Miss. Fatumah Ntanzi, Mr. Shafique Sserunjogi, Miss. Faridah Mirembe, Mr. Musisi Rojas Joel, Mr. Mukasa Muhamedi, Mrs Oliva, Senga Jane and thousands of Ugandans working and living in South Africa. Other Movement supporters were also voted to senior executive positions like South African-Based Ugandan Music promoter Mr. Kabisi Henry was voted unopposed for the Vice-Chairmanship and Mr. Matovu Bashil a supporter of the movement system was also voted in as a Treasurer for the Ugandan Community in South Africa.

As Part of his team, Mr. Mukasa read out his all inclusive cabinet to the general assembly appointing a youthful Mr. Kagimu Peter as the General Secretary to the executive committee, Mr. Kamuntu Ham as the Auditor General Mr. John Mungereza as the Speaker, Mr Gerald for Publicity, Mr. Sentongo for Youth Affairs, Mr. Mubiru for Home Office.

The newly elected executive believes that due to our transnational roots, Ugandans in South Africa are socially and culturally hybridized enough, to potentially offer a direct and perhaps more effective way of linking prospective investor and development partners, Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturers associations, and Trade and investment authority for the development of the Ugandan economy. Our main objective will therefore include the general mobilization of all Ugandans to work together with relevant authorities in both countries. This will be attained through lobbying and facilitation of meaningful and sustainable new ideas to develop our internal capabilities to ensure economic development of all Ugandans.

Our development program for the year 2010-2012 is structurered, in line and close collaboration with the government authorities, to reintroduce inter-city relationships and assemble considerable human resource for the exchange programs to reinforce bilateral cooperation between Uganda and South Africa. My take on this is profoundly rooted in the opportunities for beneficial collaborations, this time in favor of Uganda. This will go a long way to address our issues by learning from fellow African cities Johannesburg, Tshwane Durban and particularly the city of Cape Town that was voted the best administered city in the world 2008.

Over $ 0.8 billion in remittances from Ugandans abroad was recorded by Bank of Uganda last financial year. This is a clear indication that Ugandans abroad greatly care about their Mother-land. Ugandans in South Africa are among the top ten remittance senders but Mr. Mukasa still believes that we can do better if and when we are more organized. The entire executive vowed to work tirelessly with all relevant authorities to meet the targets set to get Ugandans work smart and remit more.

Mr. Mukasa strongly believes that Uganda’s future development plans will fully depend on the combined strength of all Ugandans at home and in the Diaspora, government and trade partners plus donor groups to bring about synergistically beneficial cooperation, with all stakeholders fulfilling their mutual development goals for Uganda.  Mr. Mukasa thanked all Ugandans for entrusting the leadership in his able hands and strongly recommends that people should continue to join and support the main stream party to first track development for all under the able stewardship of the President Museveni and the Movement system with stamina, pakalast.

1957 Left Handed Les Paul Junior VOS

1957 Left Handed Les Paul Junior VOS

$2899

In 1955, the competition to develop and market solid body electric guitars that were both affordable and professionally built was heating up. Just three years earlier, Gibson had introduced the incredible Les Paul model with a $249.50 price tag (including case), yet increased competition was triggering the exploration into new directions that would eventually yield a wide variety of new and innovative Gibson products at various price points. Among those new products was the Les Paul Junior single cutaway model in 1955a stripped-down, affordable alternative to the more expensive Les Paul model. At $99.50or $149 with a Gibson amplifier bearing the same namethe Les Paul Junior single cutaway, with its lightweight slab mahogany body and single Gibson P-90 pickup, quickly became Gibsons most popular model, outselling the ES-125 by 142 units in 1955 and peaking at 2,959 units shipped in 1957. It would continue its reign as Gibsons best selling model until 1960. Built primarily as a student model, and later redesigned, the Les Paul Junior of the mid 1950s became the instrument of choice for such legends of the late 60s and 70s as Leslie West, Steve Marriott, Keith Richards, Mick Ralphs, Mick Jones, and Paul Westerberg.Gibson Customs 1957 Les Paul Junior Single Cutaway is a meticulous reproduction of this classic Gibson model at the height of its popularity, faithfully capturing every detail and intensity of the original.Every period-correct feature is there24 -inch scale length mahogany neck that meets the body at the 16th fret, long neck tenon, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays, Gibsons traditional 50s rounded neck profile, CTS potentiometers, bumble bee capacitors, white-button tuners, and lightweight wraparound tailpiece. This "TV Yellow" model includes a standard Gibson Custom Shop case, custom care kit, and certificate of authenticity.

 4th & Wall

4th & Wall

$14.98

For the uninitiated, West Indian Girl are not a reggae band, and for those who haven’t been paying attention, they aren’t an electro-studio duo anymore, either. With 4th & Wall the twosome has expanded to a sextet with the addition of live bass, drums, percussion, and guitar, further swelled by a host of guest musicians, greatly extending WIG’s aural vistas and influences — which now span the musical spectrum from synth pop to classic rock, from new wave to techno. A Keith Richards-ish guitar lick enlivens the infectious “Get Up,” echoes of “Free Bird” soar in the finale of “Sofia,” the Soup Dragons’ spirit swirls around “Lost Children,” and Echo & the Bunnymen’s moody atmospheres pool around “To Die in LA” and “All My Friends.” On the irresistible “Solar Eyes,” the group juxtaposes bubbly synth pop against a lusher new romantic style and a four-on-the-floor disco beat, then stirs in spacy effects and a funky feel. Sadly, though, the set’s sequencing is a bit slack, occasionally making for jarring shifts in styles between tracks, which is a shame, because in reality 4th & Wall is actually a quite coherent album. This is particularly evident in the songs’ themes, which revolve around the lure of L.A. and its nearby beaches, as well as more universal interpersonal subjects. It’s equally true of the music, even as the band drifts from gentle soft pop through Boston-styled keyboard rockers, the hefty space rocker “Rise from the Dead,” and upbeat dance tunes. The styles may change and the atmospheres alter from languorous to driving, but what remains constant are the lilting vocals, strong melodies, and psychedelic keyboards that remain the core of WIG’s sound. The pumping “Blue Wave” was the first number selected as a sound clip, but the new wave-ish “To Die in LA” and the breezy “All My Friends” would have worked just as well, while “Solar” should tear up the dancefloor. Like West Indian Girl’s California home, the band’s music is an exhila…
